More than 130 Russian citizens were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan in one day.

Over the past 24 hours, more than 400 people, including two groups of Russian citizens, were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan through the Astara checkpoint. A group of Russian citizens departed from Lankaran Airport for Moscow on an Emergencies Ministry plane.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," more than 600 people, including 125 Russian citizens, were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan on the night of March 2.
Due to fighting in Iran, bus routes through that country between Baku and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic have been suspended. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has recommended citizens to refrain from visiting Iran and Israel.

Between 1:00 PM and 10:00 PM local time, 403 people passed through the border crossing point. Of these, 48 were Azerbaijani citizens and 132 were Russian citizens. The evacuees also include citizens of China, Tajikistan, Oman, Pakistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Switzerland, Mexico, South Africa, Georgia, the Philippines, Italy, Nigeria, Japan, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
A group of 117 Russian citizens who crossed the border yesterday evening were transported by bus to Lankaran International Airport to board a special flight home.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported last night that a plane carrying 117 Russians evacuated from Iran departed Azerbaijan for Moscow, Interfax reported, citing the ministry.
Fifty-four children were among the evacuees. Doctors from the Centrospas team and psychologists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations are on board. There were no reports of the plane's arrival as of 5:00 a.m.
Earlier, amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, Baku announced its refusal to allow strikes on its neighboring country, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed his readiness to help reduce tensions. Analysts considered Azerbaijan's position on the conflict in Iran to be pragmatic.
