A drone attack was recorded in the Astrakhan region.

The Ministry of Defense reported three drones shot down overnight in the Astrakhan Region.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on the night of March 2, the military shot down 66 drones in the Krasnodar Region and one in the Astrakhan Region. A drone attack in Novorossiysk injured seven people and damaged 17 residential buildings. A fire also broke out at a fuel terminal.

Last night, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 16 Ukrainian drones, the Ministry of Defense reported on its Telegram channel.

According to the report, three drones were shot down in the Astrakhan Region, the rest in the Belgorod Region and Crimea.

Astrakhan Region Governor Igor Babushkin, as of 9:15 a.m. Moscow time, had not reported on the overnight attack or its consequences on his Telegram channel.

As a reminder, on December 15, 2025, 38 drones were shot down in the Astrakhan Region. They attacked "industrial and energy facilities," Igor Babushkin reported on his Telegram channel that day. He called it "one of the most massive attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Astrakhan Region."

In the Astrakhan Region, as in other regions of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts, filming drone attacks and their aftermath is prohibited. These prohibitions contradict the Constitution, which guarantees the inadmissibility of censorship and the freedom to search for, record, and disseminate information, lawyers pointed out.
