An Azerbaijani citizen was injured as a result of US and Israeli strikes on Iran. His life is not in danger, the Foreign Ministry reported.

As reported by the Caucasian Knot, bus routes through Iran between Baku and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic have been suspended due to military action in Iran. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry recommended citizens refrain from visiting Iran and Israel.

An Azerbaijani citizen was injured in Iran, Ayhan Hajizade, head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, announced today.

"At the moment, only one of our citizens has been injured. He is receiving appropriate assistance from the diplomatic mission, and his condition is good," APA quoted him as saying today.

Azerbaijani embassies and consulates general in the region continue to operate in an enhanced mode, Hajizade added. "Our diplomatic missions are providing the necessary support in response to requests from citizens," he said.

As a reminder, by 00:00 Moscow time on March 1, 12 Azerbaijani citizens, including three minors, were evacuated from Iran. An Italian citizen also arrived in Azerbaijan through the border crossing.

On February 28, Israel and the United States launched strikes against Iran. Donald Trump announced the start of a large-scale military operation, accusing Iran of an "endless campaign of bloodshed and mass murder" directed against the United States and its allies. In retaliation, Iran struck American military targets in the Middle East – in Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar.
