The Minister of Civil Defense and Emergencies of Kuban remains under arrest.

The Krasnodar Regional Court dismissed the appeal against the arrest of the acting Minister of Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Krasnodar Territory, Sergei Shtrikov.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", the Minister of Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Krasnodar Territory, Sergei Shtrikov, was detained by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory on suspicion of abuse of office, and the court arrested him for two months.

According to the case materials, in 2024, Shtrikov, while holding the position of Minister of Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Krasnodar Territory, instructed his subordinates to prepare fictitious documents about alleged violations discovered during the already completed auction for the purchase and installation of modular fire station buildings to achieve the cancellation of its results. Following a repeat bidding process, the contract was awarded to a company lobbied by the official, the joint press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory reported on its Telegram channel.

The Krasnodar Regional Court upheld the decision to arrest Sergei Shtrikov, Acting Minister of Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Krasnodar Territory, who is accused of abuse of office, the joint press service of the regional courts reported.

"The judicial panel for criminal cases of the Krasnodar Regional Court reviewed the materials of the appeal against the ruling of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar on the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention for Sergei Shtrikov (...). The appellate court found that, based on the grounds and reasons set forth therein, no other preventive measure could be selected for the accused. Shtrikov will remain in custody," Interfax quoted the press service as saying.
