The Supreme Court upheld Aslan Gagiev's life sentence.
The Cassation Board of the Supreme Court of Russia refused to overturn the sentence of North Ossetian native Aslan Gagiev in the case of organizing a criminal community.
As "Caucasian Knot" reported, in September 2023, the Southern District Military Court sentenced Aslan Gagiev (Dzhako) to life imprisonment. On August 25, 2025, it became known that Gagiev filed a statement requesting to be sent to a special operation zone. Relatives of the victims in Gagiev's case are concerned for their safety due to rumors circulating on Telegram about his release. Aslan Gagiev, a resident of North Ossetia who received a life sentence, remains in prison and will not be able to travel to the combat zone, a representative of the Federal Penitentiary Service stated.
The Supreme Court of Russia has denied review of the life sentence of 54-year-old Aslan Gagiev (Dzhako), convicted in 2023 of organizing a criminal organization operating in North Ossetia, Moscow, and the Moscow region.
After reviewing the cassation appeal of the convicted man's lawyer, the panel for military personnel cases found the sentence of life imprisonment proportionate to the crimes committed and upheld the ruling, according to the press service of the Supreme Court of Russia.
Gagiev was previously charged with the murders of Oleg Oziev, Deputy Prosecutor of the Industrial District of Vladikavkaz, in 2013, and three businessmen: Taimur Kadzaev, Valery Laliev, and Alan Torchinov. The accused did not admit to organizing these murders, according to the biography of Aslan Gagiev, published on the "Caucasian Knot."
