Bastrykin drew attention to the violation of the rights of residents of a dilapidated building in Taganrog.

Residents of a dilapidated five-story building in Taganrog were relocated back in 2024, but not all of them have received compensation since then. A criminal case had previously been opened for violation of their rights, but the city prosecutor dismissed it. Alexander Bastrykin ordered a reopening of a criminal case.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, in October 2024, due to the threat of collapse of a high-rise building on 17th Novy Lane in Taganrog a state of emergency was declared. Authorities stated that residents must be resettled as soon as possible.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin ordered a reopening of a criminal case on the violation of the rights of displaced people from a dilapidated building in Taganrog after the city prosecutor overturned the first order to initiate it, Kommersant wrote on February 22.

In October 2024, residents of the building, due to the threat of collapse of which a state of emergency was declared, were evacuated and placed in temporary accommodation centers, but not all of them Compensation was paid. Appeals to various authorities yielded no results.

At Bastrykin's direction, a criminal case was opened, but Taganrog Prosecutor Roman Kolomoitsev overturned the decision. Investigative authorities attempted to appeal the decision all the way to Rostov Region Prosecutor Roman Praskov, but to no avail. An additional investigation is currently underway.

Bastrykin instructed the acting The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Rostov Region, Maxim Shishchenko, has ordered a reopening of the criminal case.
