A resident of Ingushetia was convicted of aiding terrorist activity.

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don found Timerlan Kartoyev guilty of aiding and abetting the financing of terrorism and sentenced him to 16 years in prison.

According to investigators, in 2018, Timerlan Kartoyev agreed to provide a friend with bank cards and passwords for a monthly fee. The friend explained this as a fundraising effort for charity.

In April 2021, Kartoyev learned from law enforcement that the cards he had provided were being used to finance terrorism. However, acting out of selfish motives and understanding the nature of the assistance, he failed to take measures to stop the criminal use of the cards, the press service of the Southern District Military Court reported on its Telegram channel.

Between April 20 and June 13, 2021, more than 264,000 rubles were transferred to two bank cards that Kartoyev transferred to another person for the purpose of financing terrorism.

According to the court's verdict, the defendant was found guilty of assisting terrorist activity and . He was sentenced to 16 years in a maximum security penal colony, with the first five years to be served in prison, the press service said.

"Kavkazsky Knot" also reported that the Rostov-on-Don Military Court sentenced Magomed Kottoyev, a native of Malgobek, to a lengthy prison term, finding him an accomplice to those involved in the attack on a traffic police post on the border between Ingushetia and North Ossetia in March 2023.
