A fire in the Kuban village of Volna has been extinguished.
In the village of Volna, Temryuk District, a fire that occurred after a drone struck an oil tank has been extinguished.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on the night of February 17, a drone attack started a fire at the Ilsky Oil Refinery in the Seversky District of Kuban. Also, in the village of Volna, Temryuk District, an oil tank caught fire. The fires covered 700 and 1,250 square meters, respectively.
In the village of Ilsky, two people were injured in a drone attack and hospitalized. Four private homes were also damaged.
The fire in the village of Volna has been extinguished, the Kuban emergency response headquarters reported today at 9:59 AM Moscow time on its Telegram channel. "97 people fought the fire, which covered an area of 1,250 square meters, using 29 pieces of equipment. There were no casualties as a result of the emergency," the post stated.
The emergency response headquarters had not reported on the progress of the fire at the Ilsky Oil Refinery on its Telegram channel as of 12:55 PM Moscow time.
On February 15, two fires, totaling 2,200 square meters, also broke out in the village of Volna after an air strike. One of them was extinguished that same evening, the other the following day.
The regional office of Rospotrebnadzor reported on air quality testing in the residential area of the village of Ilsky after the fire, Kommersant reported today.
According to the agency, no samples were found to be inconsistent with hygiene standards during daily testing. Nevertheless, the agency recommended that people living in the fire zone avoid being outdoors if possible, keep windows closed, perform wet cleaning more frequently, and "maintain a hydration regimen," the publication writes.
Remember, residents of the villages of Afipsky and Ilsky in the Seversky District, where oil refineries are located, regularly suffer from drone attacks. Thus, on December 14, 2025, authorities reported that during a drone attack, "UAV debris" damaged five private homes in the village of Afip. On December 1, a drone attack damaged 19 homes and a cell phone tower in the village of Ilsky.
The oil refineries themselves have also been repeatedly attacked by drones. Specifically, on November 29, 2025, an aerial attack caused a fire at the refinery in Afipsky, evacuating workers. The fire was extinguished the same day.
On September 7, 2025, equipment at the Ilsky oil refinery caught fire as a result of an attack. Authorities reported on the prompt extinguishing of the fire.
In September 2025, the Krasnodar Krai banned the dissemination of information about drone attacks and their consequences, as well as the filming of air defense systems, military installations, and critical infrastructure. In December 2025, Kuban authorities introduced fines for filming aerial attacks and air defense systems. A corresponding bill from the regional legislative assembly was published on the "Caucasian Knot."
