A fighter from Dagestan was killed in Ukraine.

Mehrab Kaziyev from the Magaramkent district was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, at least 1,810 Dagestani soldiers have been officially recognized as killed there.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by February 16, officials and security forces had named at least 1,809 Dagestani soldiers killed in Ukraine.

The Magaramkent District Administration announced today on its Telegram channel the transfer of posthumous awards to the relatives of Mekhrab Kaziyev, who died in the military operation.

"The Zhukov Medal and the departmental medal 'Participant in a Special Military Operation' were handed over to his father, a resident of the village of Novy Aul," the administration said in a statement.

On January 24, the Magaramkent District Administration reported that Alik Abdulkadirov and Mirza Shakhguseynov were killed in the North Caucasus Military District (SVO) zone.

Thus, at least 1,810 soldiers from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Northern Military District Statistics: Losses Are Mounting for Southern Russia."

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Three Comrades Served: How Authorities Are Denying Benefits to Families of Killed Volunteers," which describes the stories of soldiers from other regions. For example, the mother of the murdered Dmitry Ukhanov said she searched for her son's body for four months, while administration and military registration and enlistment office staff inquired from her about the progress of the search without offering any assistance.
