A court has arrested the head of a ministry in Krasnodar Krai.

The court has remanded Sergei Shtrikov, Acting Minister of Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Krasnodar Territory, in pretrial detention for two months on charges of abuse of office.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," Sergei Shtrikov, Minister of Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Krasnodar Territory, was detained by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory on suspicion of abuse of office.

According to case materials, in 2024, Shtrikov, while serving as Minister of Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Krasnodar Territory, instructed his subordinates to prepare fictitious documents about alleged violations discovered during a completed auction for the purchase and installation of a modular fire station building, in order to have its results overturned. Following a repeat bidding process, the contract was awarded to a company lobbied by the official, the joint press service of the courts of Krasnodar Krai reported on its Telegram channel.

"The Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar considered the investigator's petition to select a preventive measure in the form of detention for Sergei Shtrikov (...). The court granted the petition, selecting a preventive measure in the form of detention for the accused. The term of the preventive measure is two months," the press service said.

The press service clarified that Shtrikov is accused of abuse of office .

Sergei Shtrikov headed the Ministry of Civil Defense and Emergencies of Krasnodar Krai since February 2020. It is known that he, among other things, oversaw the cleanup of the fuel oil spill in the Krasnodar Territory.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, on January 27, security forces also conducted investigative actions with the former deputy governor of Kuban, Anna Minkova. She was later detained on suspicion of committing corruption crimes. On January 29, the court placed Minkova under house arrest.
