Ekazhev and Khidriev's defense team revealed details of the sabotage plot.
Ingush resident Alikhan Khidriev, who was charged with preparing a sabotage attack alongside Ramazan Ekazhev, denies knowing him. Ekazhev only partially admitted the charge in court.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," in 2024, Ingush resident Ramazan Ekazhev was arrested in connection with a plot to explode an oil depot. His case was heard in the Supreme Court of Ingushetia. Alikhan Khidriev was also involved in the case; he was charged solely with illegal trafficking of explosive devices. Today, the court sentenced Ekazhev to 11 years in a maximum-security prison with a fine of 500,000 rubles, and Khidriev to five years in a minimum-security prison with a fine of 300,000 rubles.
Ramazan Ekazhev, convicted today on charges of preparing sabotage, admitted guilt during the preliminary investigation but partially retracted his confessions during the trial, his lawyer, Khazbulat Akhilgov, told the "Caucasian Knot."
"I only defended him in court, but before me, he admitted guilt and then partially retracted his confessions. Now we partially admit some things and partially retract others," Akhilgov said.
Alikhan Khidriev, although convicted in the same case as Ekazhev, denies having contact with him. His lawyer reported that he fully admitted the charge of illegal trafficking of explosive devices.
"Khidriev kept the explosive device at the request of a neighbor. Ekazhev didn't ask for anything, and they had no contact whatsoever. Khidriev admitted his guilt," Lida Khidrieva told the Caucasian Knot.
Both lawyers were unprepared today to answer the question of whether the verdict would be appealed.
The Caucasian Knot also reported that at the end of January 2026, Ingushetia residents Akhmed Sakalov and Mukhammad Tumgoyev were sentenced to 13 and 12 years in prison, respectively, on charges of preparing sabotage and illegal trafficking of explosive devices. The data of 30-year-old Nazran native Ramazan Ekazhev and 31-year-old Nazran native Muhammad Tumgoev were added to the Rosfinmonitoring register of terrorists and extremists on the same day, September 23, 2024, according to data from a Telegram bot tracking updates to the list.
