Two residents of Buynaksk have been accused of promoting extremist symbols.

The Buinaksk City Court will hear the cases of Magomedtagir Kambulatov and Kurban Arabkhanov, charged with repeated public display of Nazi symbols.

Repeated public display or propaganda of prohibited symbols, including symbols of extremist organizations and Nazi paraphernalia, is punishable by Article 282.4 of the Russian Criminal Code, which carries a sentence of up to four years in prison or forced labor. Criminal proceedings under this article are initiated in cases where the individual has already been held administratively liable for the same offense under Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

The Dagestan 24 Telegram channel reported on February 11 that a Buinaksk resident was being prosecuted for repeatedly posting prohibited symbols publicly. "The case has been sent to the Buinaksk City Court," the report stated.

The Buinaksk City Court has two cases under Article 282.4 of the Criminal Code, both of which were received for consideration in early February. The court accepted the case of Kurban Arabkhanov on February 3, and the case of Magomedtagir Kambulatov on February 5.

The names of both defendants were added to the Rosfinmonitoring list of terrorists and extremists on February 11, according to a Telegram bot tracking updates to the registry. According to the entries on the list, Magomedtagir Kambulatov is a 33-year-old native of Buinaksk, and 29-year-old Kurban Arabkhanov was born in the village of Mogokh in the Gergebil District of Dagestan.

The details of both cases, including the nature of the symbols displayed by the defendants, are unknown. Caucasian Knot has not yet received any comments from the defendants or their lawyers regarding the charges.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that a court in the Rostov region sentenced Ukrainian native Pavel Tsukanov to two years in a penal colony for repeatedly displaying tattoos with Nazi symbols.
