Usman Nurmagomedov defended his PFL title.

Dagestani MMA fighter Usman Nurmagomedov defeated Britain's Alfie Davis at the Professional Fighters League tournament to defend his lightweight title.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," in January 2025, Dagestani MMA fighter Usman Nurmagomedov defeated Irishman Paul Hughes at the Professional Fighters League (PFL) tournament in Dubai to defend his lightweight title. This victory marked Nurmagomedov's 19th; he has no losses.

Usman Nurmagomedov defended his Professional Fighters League lightweight title again, defeating Britain's Alfie Davis, RIA Dagestan reported today.

The fight, which took place in Dubai, ended in the third round via choke, according to the publication.

This is Usman Nurmagomedov's fifth defense of his PFL title. He now has 21 wins and no losses, with one fight ruled a no contest. Davis, who won the PFL Lightweight Grand Prix in 2025, has a record of 20 wins, six losses, and one draw, according to RIA Novosti.

As a reminder, Usman Nurmagomedov is Khabib Nurmagomedov's cousin. In November 2023, he was suspended by the California State Athletic Commission after his fight with American Brent Primus. Nurmagomedov was found to have a prescription for a banned substance, but he did not apply for a therapeutic exemption. Nurmagomedov was accused of violating anti-doping rules, and the result of his fight with Primus was annulled.

The temporary disqualification and annulment of the results of the fight in which Usman Nurmagomedov defended his champion title will not result in the stripping of his championship title, Bellator's management subsequently assured.

In September 2024, after a temporary disqualification, Usman Nurmagomedov defeated Alexander Shabliy and defended his Bellator lightweight title.
