A teenager has been arrested in connection with the shooting at a Baku lyceum.
A Baku court has remanded in custody a tenth-grader who opened fire with his father's gun at a lyceum. Doctors described the post-operative condition of the teacher injured by the teenager as stable.
The Binagadi District Court of Baku granted the investigators' motion and remanded a high school student detained in connection with the shooting at the school for four months, Meydan TV reported today on its website.
The incident occurred on February 6 on the grounds of a lyceum in the Binagadi district. According to investigators, a 10th-grade student wounded a teacher with a hunting rifle belonging to his father, Report reported on February 7.
The teenager was detained and charged under Articles 29 and 120.1 of the Criminal Code (attempted premeditated murder), the publication writes.
The victim is math teacher Shakhla Kamilova, born in 1997. She was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Clinical Medical Center and later transferred to the neurosurgery department.
According to doctors, her condition is stable, Oxu.az reported on February 7.
The woman's father, Fagani Kamilova, told the publication that the surgery was successful. He said 16 pellets were removed from his daughter's neck.
