A Buinaksk resident was sentenced to a long prison term for assisting militants.

A military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Yusuf Manukov of Buinaksk to nine years in prison, finding him guilty of aiding terrorist activity and publicly calling for terrorism.

The case of the Buinaksk resident, charged under three articles of the Russian Criminal Code, has been heard by the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don since May 2025.

Yusuf Manukov was charged with aiding terrorist activity, public calls for terrorism, and illegal trafficking of explosives.

According to the prosecution, in 2024, Manukov disseminated information about the activities of an international terrorist organization banned in Russia among his acquaintances. According to security officials, he promoted militant activities in order to instill radical views and "conviction in the appeal of extremist ideology" in his interlocutors.

The prosecution also believes that the young man intended to attack law enforcement officers and "incited his acquaintances to form an armed group." Grenades and components of explosive devices were seized from him during his arrest.

The court found Manukov guilty on all counts and sentenced him to nine years in a maximum-security prison with a fine of 40,000 rubles. This sentence was handed down to the defendant "in connection with his admission of guilt and cooperation with the investigation," RIA Dagestan reported today, citing the republican FSB department.

According to the case file on the court's website, the sentence was handed down back in September, and the defendant did not appeal. In December 2025, the bailiff service in Buinaksk and A writ of execution was sent to the Buinaksk District to collect a fine from Manukov.

Yusuf Manukov was born in the Tyumen Region and turned 10 on January 16, according to his entry in the Rosfinmonitoring register of terrorists and extremists. His details were added to this list on February 17, 2025, according to a message from a bot tracking the list.
