A complaint from Shalushka residents about the road's condition has attracted the attention of the Investigative Committee.

The road to the pedestrian bridge used by children in the village of Shalushka to get to school is in unacceptable condition, local residents complained. The head of the Investigative Committee ordered a criminal investigation.

Residents of Shalushka repeatedly informed the Chegem District Administration about the problematic road on Polevoy Lane, but officials, they say, ignored their complaints.

Several hundred Shalushka residents use the road to the pedestrian bridge every day to get to school or work. For approximately six months of the year, they are forced to walk through deep mud.

“This is what the road to school in Shalushka along Polevoy Street looks like. We've been asking for a bridge for six months, and they barely got it done. The road to the bridge is terrible, impossible to walk. How can you walk children to school on a road like this?” "A village resident asks, showing the condition of the road in a video: the dirt road is washed out, with deep potholes and puddles visible.

Both villagers and People's Front activists have filed complaints with the authorities regarding this road. "Residents have already contacted the Chegem District Administration of the republic. They were promised a resolution, but more than a month has passed since their appeal, and no action has been taken," according to a post on the CHP / Nalchik Telegram channel on February 4.

The Investigative Committee responded today to reports of the unusable road in Shalushka. The head of the agency, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered a criminal case to be opened based on residents' complaints, and the republican branch of the agency has launched an investigation.

“The unpaved road regularly washes away during periods of precipitation and snowmelt. As a result, citizens, including children, are unable to freely reach school. Despite these violations, no measures are being taken to organize repairs,” according to a statement on the Investigative Committee's official Telegram channel.

Investigators did not specify the article under which the criminal case was opened.
