The Kizlyar District Court has received a petition from investigators to select a preventive measure for a resident of the Kazbekovsky District suspected of committing murder. On the evening of December 13, 2025, the suspect arrived at the home of the 35-year-old victim (his second wife in a Muslim marriage) with their six-month-old child and children from another marriage. A conflict soon arose between the suspect and the woman, during which the man strangled the victim. He then took the body to the outskirts of the village of M. Gorky in the Tarumovsky District, where he washed it in a canal, wrapped it in a sheet taken from the victim's home, and buried it. Seven weeks later, the man decided to turn himself in to the investigative authorities. The suspect claimed the murder was motivated by jealousy, explaining that the victim had acted coldly toward him, and that based on one of her remarks, he assumed she was cheating on him. The court ordered the suspect to be remanded in custody for two months, or until April 2, 2026, the joint press service of the courts of Dagestan reported on its Telegram channel.
The mullah who strangled his wife worked as the imam of the Tarumovskaya mosque. He was dismissed from his position six months ago after his contract expired. In the village, he is known as a very righteous man, and news of the murder shocked the locals. The arrested man's name is Magomedali Mirzakhanov, writes Mash_Gor.
