A Mariupol resident was arrested in Rostov-on-Don for serving in a Ukrainian battalion.

Aleksey Ermak, a resident of Mariupol, was detained in the Rostov Region, accused of serving in a Ukrainian battalion. He has been arrested.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on September 22, a court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Gorlovka resident Anton Bondarenko to 16.5 years in prison, finding him guilty of espionage and public calls for terrorist activity.

FSB officers for the Rostov Region detained Mariupol resident Alexei Yermak, who is accused of participating in a terrorist organization, Kommersant reported on September 29.

Yermak has been charged with committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Russian Criminal Code. According to investigators, he voluntarily joined a Ukrainian battalion, where he served as a sergeant in a special forces unit stationed in the village of Urzuf in the Mangush district.

The Mariupol resident is currently under arrest.
