Protesters in Tbilisi expressed support for the German Ambassador.

The German-Georgian Friendship March, announced after the German Ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Ministry, was held under the slogan "Together for Europe." After the march, its participants joined protesters outside the Georgian Parliament.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," on September 27, the 303rd day of daily protests, supporters of Georgia's European integration, gathered on Rustaveli Avenue, announced a "Georgian-German Friendship March" – an action in gratitude to Germany for its support of democracy. On the 304th day of daily protests, the closure of Rustaveli Avenue was preceded by a march involving refugees from Abkhazia, timed to coincide with the 32nd anniversary of the fall of Sukhumi.

Since November 28, 2024, opposition members and activists have been holding daily protests in Tbilisi outside the Georgian Parliament and blocking traffic on Rustaveli Avenue, demanding the release of all arrested protesters and the holding of new parliamentary elections.

On the 305th day of continuous protests, those gathered outside the Georgian Legislative Assembly building once again blocked traffic on Rustaveli Avenue.

Prior to this, a Georgian-German friendship march took place. Participants gathered outside the German Embassy in Georgia to express their support for German Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Peter Fischer, who was summoned to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 24. Participants of the march from the Georgian Public Broadcaster building also joined the march.

According to the protesters, the statements made by government officials against the German Ambassador are an attack not only on the ambassador, but also on the long-standing friendship between the countries.

The protesters' demands remain unchanged: new parliamentary elections and the release of all those detained during the protest, Interpressnews reports.

The Georgian-German Friendship March was held under the slogan "Together Towards Europe!" "Together for Europe!" Publika reported.

In a video published by the Tbilisi Life Telegram channel, protesters march with the slogan "Together for Europe."

German Ambassador to Tbilisi Peter Fischer was summoned to the Georgian Foreign Ministry on September 24 due to attempts to promote a radical agenda in the country. This was stated in a statement by the Foreign Ministry. The diplomat was reminded of his obligation to respect the law. and the host country's regulations and not to interfere in the internal affairs of the state in accordance with the Vienna Convention. "The Georgian side expressed concern about attempts to promote a radical agenda within the country, which are incompatible with the principles of democracy and contribute to deepening polarization in society. Equally concerning are the ongoing attempts to politicize judicial proceedings in Georgia, as well as the participation of ambassadors in these processes," the Novosti Georgia news agency quoted the Foreign Ministry's statement.

The German Foreign Ministry called today's summons of its ambassador, Peter Fischer, to the Georgian Foreign Ministry "baseless" and condemned the "aggressive rhetoric" directed at him by representatives of the ruling party. "We strongly reject the ongoing aggressive rhetoric of Georgian Dream representatives against the German ambassador in Tbilisi and his today's baseless summons. He represents the position of the federal government and acts in full compliance with the Vienna Convention," the publication stated.
