A pensioner from Dinskaya was placed in a psychiatric hospital for examination.
Relatives took a practically blind 90-year-old pensioner from the village of Dinskaya to a psychiatric hospital for a 30-day evaluation after an investigator threatened to take him by force, although an appeal of the court's decision has not yet been heard. Calls to relatives are prohibited at the facility.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," teenagers in Kuban accused a 90-year-old pensioner from the village of Dinskaya of indecent assault after he relieved himself near his dacha. The man is blind in one eye and has only 10 percent vision in the other. He insists he did not see the teenagers on the pier 20 meters away. According to his lawyer, the pensioner faced pressure and threats, and investigators coerced him into confessing. On August 5, the pensioner's relatives stated that his health had significantly worsened due to the persecution. The pensioner is bedridden, and investigative actions were conducted at home. The court ordered an inpatient psychiatric examination at the investigators' request, despite evidence of his grave condition. The court denied the 90-year-old man's attending physician a hearing and also rejected a request to postpone the examination until his condition improves.
Despite the fact that the appeal of the judge's decision to forcibly commit the grandfather for an inpatient forensic examination has not yet been heard, the suspect was nevertheless admitted to a specialized hospital today, his lawyer, Alexey Avanesyan, reported today on his Telegram channel.
"The relatives took the grandfather themselves, because, according to the investigator, otherwise he would stage a 'masked show' today. Some might think the investigator was clearly bluffing and that no police officer would have raised a hand to forcibly drag a sick, practically blind, 90-year-old man with a catheter in his bladder out of bed, stuff him into a car, and drive him to another city. I assure you, you are mistaken," he wrote. Avanesyan.
At the dispensary, the man's personal belongings and medications were confined and he was placed in a general ward for 30 days. "Relatives were told that visits were only allowed three times a week, and calls were prohibited altogether. The staff was surprised that he was separated from his family and doctors in such a state and with such test results," the lawyer wrote.
The pensioner is a former physics teacher; his 86-year-old wife, also a teacher, worked her entire life as a teacher of Russian language and literature. His family describes him as a caring husband and loving father. "We were used to teaching our children honesty and responsibility, and now we ourselves have become victims of a terrible misunderstanding," his wife previously told the "Caucasian Knot."
