New People candidate becomes head of village in Dagestan
In most of the villages in Dagestan where elections for heads were held on September 14, United Russia candidates won. Only in one of the villages was a representative of the New People party elected head, and in three more, independent candidates received the majority of votes.
As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, from September 12 to 14, elections of deputies of the first convocation of the Makhachkala Assembly of Deputies, representative bodies of five more cities and 581 settlements were held in Dagestan, and elections of heads were held in 22 villages. In Makhachkala, United Russia received over 75% of the votes.
The Dagestan Electoral Commission announced today the results of the elections of heads of municipal entities in 22 villages of the republic. The elections were recognized as valid only in 19 of these villages.
United Russia candidates received 15 mandates as heads of municipal entities. In one of the villages, the post of head was taken by a candidate from the New People party, and in three more - by self-nominated candidates.
The Verkhneinkhelinsky village council in the Akhvakhsky district was headed by a nominee of New People - Gadzhimurad Ismailov, the Novokayakentsky and Novikrinsky village councils - by self-nominated candidates Shamil Agayev and Nabigulla Magomedov, respectively. In the village of Kapkaikent, self-nominated candidate Khalimbek Nukerbekov was elected head, according to data on the commission's website.
In two municipalities - the village of Gerga in the Kayakent district and the village council of Tad-Magitlinsky in the Akhvakh district - the elections of heads did not take place, since none of the candidates received the number of votes required for election. A repeat vote is scheduled for September 28 in these villages. In the village council of Gindibsky, the elections have been postponed until November 23 for the additional nomination of candidates for deputies of the local assembly, according to a message on the official Telegram channel of the election commission.
