Korgoli Korgoliev re-elected as Mayor of Khasavyurt

Both of Korgoliyev's rivals did not receive a single vote at the session of the Khasavyurt Assembly of Deputies.

As reported by "Kavkazsky Uzel", on September 11, 2020, Korgoli Korgoliyev was elected as the mayor of Khasavyurt. He is a person from Saygidpasha Umakhanov's team.

Khasavyurt is Saygidpasha Umakhanov's zone of influence; there were no candidates in the 202 elections who could go against him, said blogger Rasul Asad and editor-in-chief of the Novoye Delo newspaper Khadzhimurad Sagitov.

Local deputies unanimously re-elected Korgoli Korgoliev as the head of Khasavyurt. "On September 10, the next session of the Assembly of Deputies of the urban district "city of Khasavyurt" was held. Korgoli Korgoliev was re-elected to the post of head of the city by unanimous vote," the city administration said in a message on its telegram channel.

The session at which the elections took place brought together 24 out of 25 deputies. All 24 supported Korgoliev's candidacy. First Vice-Mayor Arslan Arslanov and City Administration Manager Sharip Sultanov, like Korgoliev, nominated by Dagestan's Head Sergei Melikov, did not receive a single vote, notes the publication "Youth of Dagestan".

Korgoli Korgoliev is 48 years old, he is a native of the village of Burtunay in the Kazbekovsky District. In 2006, he graduated from Dagestan State University with a degree in Jurisprudence and the Institute of Public Administration and Management of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. He worked in private security companies and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Since 2015, he has held various positions in the Khasavyurt mayor's office, TASS reports.
