Dagestan resident arrested in case of running over security forces
A criminal case for the use of violence against a government official has been opened against a resident of Makhachkala, suspected of running over police officers.
As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, on August 29, police officers were pursuing a driver who did not stop at their request on Primakov Street in Makhachkala and opened fire. A police officer who was in a parked car received a fatal wound.
The incident occurred on the night of August 25, 2025 in Makhachkala. A local resident, driving away from the traffic police and patrol police officers pursuing him in a car without a license plate, ran over police officers at the intersection of Yaragskogo and Kazaka streets and fled, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Dagestan reported in its Telegram channel.
A video of the incident was published on August 25 by the Telegram channel "What's up with the Dagestanis?", which has over 90,000 subscribers. The video has been viewed 12,000 times. The video from the city camera clearly shows how a dark car crashes into a parked police car at an intersection, from which law enforcement officers immediately run out, hurrying to the offender's car. But the car immediately reverses, and despite other police cars driving up to it, it flees the scene of the accident, injuring the security forces.
