Investigative Committee rules death of Sabnova resident after conflict with teenagers as murder
Dagestani investigators have reclassified the case of the death of a young man in the Derbent district as murder, as requested by his fellow villagers. However, they found no grounds to prosecute the second participant in the attack.
As reported by "Kavkazsky Uzel", residents of the village of Sabnova in the Derbent district demanded that the case of an attack on their fellow villager, who died from stab wounds, be reclassified as murder. The investigation reported the detention of one teenager, although two attackers are visible on the crime scene camera. The second, according to the villagers, was released by law enforcement. After the villagers' appeal, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia requested a report on the investigation from his Dagestani subordinates.
The deceased, a 22-year-old young man, made a remark to teenagers who were swearing and littering under the windows of houses. "The victim, the only son in the family, came home for three days from another city where he worked. It is impossible to convey the pain of his parents," the villagers said in their appeal.

According to investigators, the circumstances of the conflict have been fully established. "The version of the involvement of a second person in the commission of this crime, which had previously been disseminated in the public space, has not been confirmed," the message published by the official Telegram channel of the department said.
The 16-year-old teenager was sent to a pre-trial detention center at the request of the investigation. He partially admitted his guilt and showed at the crime scene how exactly he stabbed the victim in the stomach. Footage of the investigative experiment was also published by the department's press service.
The investigation notes that during the investigation, they studied recordings from surveillance cameras at the scene. The recording, which was previously published by the villagers, shows two young people running away from the crime scene after the victim was injured.
