Residents of a house in Astrakhan were evacuated due to a crack in the building
The authorities inspected the five-story building on Lyakhov Street after residents reported a crack in the wall, but came to the conclusion that there was no threat of collapse. By nightfall, people were allowed to return to their apartments.
As reported by "Kavkazsky Uzel", on July 28, part of a dilapidated five-story building on Lyakhov Street collapsed in Astrakhan. The authorities reported that there were no injuries, the only hospitalized person was taken to the hospital due to stress. It was decided not to restore the house, some residents received compensation for their apartments, the rest will be resettled in temporary housing and will also receive compensation, said Igor Babushkin, Governor of the Astrakhan Region. On August 7, a collapsed ceiling was discovered in the basement of a five-story building on Tatishcheva Street in Astrakhan, residents were evacuated, and subsequently two-thirds of them were able to return to their apartments.
"Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote about the emergency condition of house No. 6 on Lyakhov Street in Astrakhan. The house was declared an emergency by the order of the Astrakhan administration dated May 25, 2020. Initially, the resettlement date was August 1, 2022, then it was moved to December 1, 2024. Residents of the building demanded that the authorities pay attention to its emergency condition: there is constant water in the basement of the building, and cracks appear in the walls.
Late in the evening, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a message about a crack in the wall of the building and organized the evacuation of residents: the area was cordoned off, police and medical teams were on duty at the scene. A few hours later, people were allowed to return to their apartments, reports GTRK "Lotus".
The report about the crack was received from a resident of an apartment on the fifth floor in the second entrance - during repairs, he discovered a crack in the wall, which had previously been hidden under the wallpaper. House No. 7 on Lyakhova Street, from which residents were evacuated late in the evening on September 4, is located next to an emergency five-story building, where less than a month and a half ago the entrance collapsed. House No. 7, also five-story, was built in 1970, but it is not listed as unsafe, notes Astrakhan.Ru.
After inspecting the house, Deputy Chairman of the Astrakhan Region Government Mikhail Bogomolov said that the crack in the building is static, it appeared a long time ago and “is not a reason for panic,” reports Astrakhan Leaflet.
According to the official, emergency response work was carried out in this house more than 20 years ago, when the walls were secured with two metal belts. Nevertheless, the authorities promised to take additional emergency response measures - today, September 5, they plan to inspect other apartments and install beacons to monitor the condition of the cracks.
In the microdistrict of Lyakhova Street, by order of the governor, all “characteristic houses” with a similar design are being inspected - there are 29 of them, six of them already show signs of unsafe conditions.
