Volgograd resident detained for online publication

A criminal case has been opened against a Volgograd resident for justifying terrorist activity on the Internet.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, in May the Southern District Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a resident of the Volgograd Region, accused of calling for terrorism due to comments on Telegram.

In Volgograd, FSB officers detained a 38-year-old man for supporting the actions of a Ukrainian paramilitary nationalist association banned in the Russian Federation. The suspect's detention was captured on video, V1.ru reports.

A 38-year-old man, whose name has not been disclosed, posted a publication on the Internet in which he justifies the activities of the said organization, the press service of the UFSB of Russia for the Volgograd Region reported. The video, the source of which is the UFSB of Russia for the Volgograd Region, shows the detention of a Volgograd resident.

We are talking about a certain publication in support of the Ukrainian armed "nationalist" formation. A criminal case has been opened against the Volgograd resident under Part 2 of Article 205, Note 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The detainee faces a fine of three hundred thousand to one million rubles or imprisonment for a term of five to seven years with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to five years, the department clarifies.
