Residents evacuated from burning house in Rostov-on-Don during drone attack
At least 15 people have been evacuated from a residential building in the center of Rostov-on-Don, where a fire broke out after a drone crashed. A total of seven houses were damaged, and a temporary accommodation center has been set up for residents.
As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, in Novoshakhtinsk, after a drone attack on the night of August 21, a fire broke out at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery. Acting Governor Yuri Slyusar reported that the fire was extinguished only on the morning of August 26. Also, as a result of the drone attack on August 26, 11 rural houses in the Neklinovsky District of the Rostov Region were damaged.
Late in the evening of August 26, residents of Rostov-on-Don reported explosions in different parts of the city, and around midnight it became known about a fire in one of the houses in Khalturinsky Lane.
Judging by the footage of the fire published by social media users, the fire started on the roof of the building and spread over a large area. Before the explosion, the “sound of a moped” was heard for several seconds, followed by a bright flash and an explosion that “made the windows shake,” “Caution, News” reports eyewitnesses.
One of the drones fell on a four-story apartment building in Khalturinsky Lane, an explosion and fire occurred on the roof of the building, the acting governor of the Rostov region reported at 0.06 Moscow time. Half an hour later, Slyusar reported that he had left for the scene of the emergency.
“After the UAV attack, the roof of a house caught fire on an area of 250 square meters. The fire has already been localized. 15 residents were evacuated from the house, they were offered to go for the night to a temporary accommodation center, which was set up at school No. 50. The main thing is that no one was hurt,” the official wrote on his Telegram channel.
The head of Rostov-on-Don, Alexander Skryabin, who also arrived at the scene of the emergency in the Leninsky district of the city, reported that a temporary accommodation center was set up at school No. 55 at the address st. Serafimovich, 25.
Slyusar also said that ten Ukrainian drones were destroyed in Taganrog, Chertkovsky and Millerovsky districts.
