Almost 30 people poisoned at a recreation center in Dagestan

A possible outbreak of food poisoning occurred at the Rubas recreation center in the Derbent district. Currently, 28 victims are known, including 25 children.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, in July 2025, symptoms of poisoning were recorded in 392 people in five villages of the Magaramkent district, 357 of them children. At least 90 people were treated in the hospital.

A possible outbreak of food poisoning occurred at the Rubas recreation center in the Derbent district. Currently, 28 victims are known, including 25 children. Nineteen people, including 17 children, have been hospitalized in the central city hospital of Derbent, RIA Novosti reports, citing the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Dagestan.

An ambulance was called to the scene and specialists from Rospotrebnadzor were sent, Interfax reports.

As of 17:30, there is no information on the health of the victims on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Health of Dagestan.

The Rubas tourist base in the Derbent district is a complex on the seashore, which includes a park hotel, cottages and a campsite. The base is located on the first line, 18 km from Derbent, according to the website of the tourist base.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" wrote that after mass poisoning in early July in five villages of the Magaramkent district (Magaramkent, Kuysun, Gilar, Gaptsakh and Verkhniy Tagirkent) an official responsible for housing and communal services was detained. Kindergartens in these villages were closed, and authorities organized the delivery of drinking water for residents. Those responsible for water supply did not disinfect water in reservoirs, water supply networks and storage tanks, the Ministry of Construction of Dagestan stated following an inspection.
