23 drones shot down at night in southern regions of Russia
During the night, air defense systems intercepted 29 unmanned aerial vehicles of the fixed-wing type, including 23 of them over the regions of the Southern Federal District, the North Caucasus Federal District and the Sea of Azov.
As "Caucasian Knot" reported, around midnight, air defense forces repelled an air attack in Novoshakhtinsk and Rodionovo-Nesvetaisky districts. One local resident was injured. Also, Millerovsky District of Rostov Oblast was attacked. In Stavropol, drones attempted to attack the industrial zone of the city of Nevinnomyssk; stubble caught fire at the site of the UAV crash.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 29 drones were destroyed by air defense systems on duty last night from 00:00 to 03:30 Moscow time. Ten drones were shot down over the Rostov Region, nine over Stavropol, and one over Krasnodar Krai.
Another three UAVs were neutralized over the Azov Sea. Drones were also shot down in the Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk Regions, the department reported on its Telegram channel.
Recall that during the drone attack on August 14, 33 residential buildings were damaged in Rostov-on-Don. According to data from the first half of the day on August 15, the number of victims was 15 people, the condition of four is assessed as moderate.
