Six trains delayed after drone attack in Volgograd region
Trains carrying passengers to and from Krasnodar Krai have been delayed en route due to a drone attack and a power grid failure at a station in Volgograd Oblast.
As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, today at Zhutovo station in Oktyabrsky District of Volgograd Oblast, the railway contact network was damaged as a result of a drone attack. This led to train delays, the transport prosecutor's office said, without providing details.
Last night, nine drones were destroyed in Volgograd Oblast and nine in Rostov Oblast. In Rostov Oblast, attacks were recorded in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky and Volgodonsk, as well as in Kamensky and Belokalitvinsky Districts. In Kamensk-Shakhtinsky the roof of a house was damaged, in the Lesnoy farm of the Kamensky district - two cars.
Due to the "fall of UAV debris" at the Zhutovo station in the Volgograd region, six passenger trains were delayed: No. 452 Adler - Izhevsk (more than 2 hours), No. 524 Adler - Yekaterinburg (more than 2 hours), No. 531 Kirov - Adler (more than 3 hours), No. 358 Imeretinskaya Kurort - Ufa (more than 1.5 hours), No. 254 Novorossiysk - Ufa (more than 1 hour) and No. 252 Novorossiysk - Ufa (more than 1 hour), the Privolzhskaya Railway reported on its Telegram channel road.
"Passenger trains No. 509 Kazan - Novorossiysk and No. 532 Adler - Kirov were sent with a delay on their routes. Three more trains may be delayed," the publication says.
Passengers on delayed trains are provided with water, and in case of delays of more than four hours, with food, the carrier emphasized. "Passengers are informed of all changes by SMS. Russian Railways is taking all necessary measures to reduce the time of train delays," the message says.
Recall that on the night of July 21, as a result of a drone attack, the building of the Kamenolomny railway station in the Rostov region caught fire. This led to disruption of the schedule and delays of more than 50 passenger trains.
A similar incident occurred on July 19 on the Likhaya – Zamchalovo section in the Rostov Region. Train traffic was also stopped there. It was resumed the same day, but the incident led to delays. Some trains were parked in a field, passengers complained that they were not provided with water or dry rations.
The next day, July 20, due to this incident, 132 passenger trains were delayed for periods ranging from half an hour to 15 hours, and the schedule of 10 trains was also changed.
