A group of tourists was evacuated from the emergency zone in Elbrus region

More than 40 tourists were evacuated from the territory of the Elbrus Park and left at an accommodation point in Tyrnyauz, the exit to the federal highway for cars and buses is still closed. Due to a new accident on the gas pipeline, residents of the Gerkhozhan microdistrict remain without gas.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, a mudflow damaged the supports of the bridge on the federal highway that leads to the Elbrus resort, traffic on the highway is closed. A state of emergency was declared in the Elbrus district. Some residents of Tyrnyauz were evacuated, several dozen people were at a temporary accommodation point on July 22 and 23. About 700 subscribers in one of the microdistricts of Tyrnyauz remain without water and gas.

A group of tourists from Kaluga was evacuated from the emergency zone in the Elbrus district. The group, which was in the Elbrus educational and methodological center in the Prielbrusye park, included 44 people, including six children.

“The tourists successfully arrived in Tyrnyauz and stayed at a temporary accommodation point, where they received everything they needed,” the Elbrus district administration reported late in the evening on July 23.

According to officials, the republic’s authorities organized transportation for the entire group to return to Kaluga. Traffic on the federal highway bridge is currently open only to pedestrians and special vehicles; the passage of cars, minibuses, and tourist buses is still prohibited. In connection with this, the tourist group’s own bus remained in Tyrnyauz in a guarded parking lot, and its two drivers were provided with housing and food.

During the day, employees and volunteers of the district youth center delivered drinking water and bread to residents of Tyrnyauz, who “found it especially difficult to lift and bring heavy bottles on their own,” the administration also reported.

According to the Tyrnyauz administration, ambulances and doctors on duty have been organized in all microdistricts of the city so that residents can quickly receive assistance. Drinking water and bread are being delivered, and a temporary accommodation center continues to operate for those in need. Since July 24, the owners of the Prostor supermarket have been organizing trips from the mosque in the Gerkhozhan microdistrict to the store, which sells essential goods and food, and back.

Around midnight, the authorities also reported that a new accident occurred on the gas pipeline leading to the Gerkhozhan microdistrict. “All necessary forces and means will be deployed at dawn to eliminate the current situation,” the official Telegram channel of the administration said.
