Armenian citizen blown up by land mine

A young man was wounded by an explosion of a mine in the Tavush Region, the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) has reported.

The incident occurred on April 6. The young man found a mine in his orchard and decided to disassemble it; as a result of which it exploded, the MfE reports.

The victim was taken to hospital with numerous wounds to his face; he also lost the fingers of his left wrist, the "NEWS.am" reports citing the MfE of Armenia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in May 2017 a resident of Vayotsdzor Region of Armenia also tripped a land mine while gathering herbs near the village of Khachik. The explosion tore off his leg.
