Real estate investors of HC "Anit-City" succeed in seeking institution of criminal proceedings against developer

The criminal case on embezzlement of funds of real estate investors of the Krasnodar housing company (HC) "Anit-City" has been filed against an unidentified employee of the company-developer. The real estate investors themselves treat the above as palliative. However, they made a decision not to renew yet their hunger strike.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 20-24, the real estate investors of the HC "Anit-City" held a hunger strike in an attempt to draw the authorities' attention to delay in construction of houses. On the day of the beginning of the protest action, real estate investor Andrei Shevtsov and Krasnodar activist Mikhail Abramyan were detained, and Mikhail Abramyan served a day of administrative arrest. At the meeting with real estate investors held on January 23, the Krasnodar authorities promised to punish the developer.

Zhanna Inzhoyan, a 70-year-old real estate investor, strongly argues the fact that the criminal case involves no specific suspect.

According to Mikhail Abramyan, the real estate investors filed a complaint against a particular developer and under the Article on fraud; however, the criminal case was instituted 10 months later and under another Article. However, the activist has added that "it is better than nothing."
