Kadyrov refutes information about imminent resignation of deputy head of Chechen MIA

Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, has refuted the information that appeared on December 28 that he has demanded from Apti Alaudinov, the Deputy Interior Minister, to resign.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the "Novaya Gazeta" has written, with reference to its sources, that Kadyrov had obliged Alaudinov, after a sharp conflict with him, to resign in connection with the December attack of militants on policemen in Grozny. The article also stated that "a number of high-ranking MIA officials and heads of Chechen ROVDs (District Interior Divisions) may resign."

Kadyrov has treated this information as "empty talk."

He wrote in his Instagram that Alkhanov and Alaudinov are "combat generals, who paid many years of their lives to successfully combating terrorism; they put their lives at risk," noting that, including through their work in the republic "most dangerous terrorists of the international level have been liquidated; and the order, stability and security are ensured."
