Defender of Rustam Aptaev appeals against his arrest

Advocate Luiza Buraeva, who represents the interests of Rustam Aptaev, a resident of Chechnya, detained by Ali-Yurt villagers on suspicion of an attempted assassination of preacher Isa Tsechoev, has filed a complaint against the decision on the administrative arrest of her client.

The defender of Rustam Aptaev does not agree "with the qualification of his actions (Article 1 of Article 19.3 of the Russian Administrative Code" failure to obey to a lawful request of a policeman") and with the conclusions contained in the court decision. The advocate believes that it should be cancelled as unlawful and unfounded," states the complaint, a copy of which is available to the "Caucasian Knot".

"The guilt of Rustam Alievich Aptaev of committing an administrative offense has not been proved. The case materials do not contain specific evidence of the essence of his illegal activities. The trial has been held with gross violations of the procedural law and is based on the data obtained illegally," states the complaint.

Besides, the defender notes that Rustam Aptaev was captured by supporters of Isa Tsechoev who ... "took him somewhere at gunpoint. Then, according to Rustam Aptaev, under the use of physical force, he had to confess to everything they wanted to hear from him, and then they called policemen to hand him over to them."
