Giorgi Kvirikashvili appointed Prime Minister of Georgia
Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili has signed a decree to appoint Giorgi Kvirikashvili the Prime Minister. On November 26, the Georgian Parliament approved his candidacy.
On November 26, the Georgian Parliament approved the new composition of the government. The former members of the government resigned after admission of the results of the recent parliamentary elections held in October. On November 18, Giorgi Kvirikashvili was nominated for the post of the Prime Minister.
The decree on the appointment of Giorgi Kvirikavshili the Prime Minister was signed after the Georgian Parliament had approved the government composition. "According to Part 8 of Article 80 of the Constitution, Giorgi Kvirikashvili is appointed the Prime Minister of Georgia," announces the decree, posted today on the website of the President of Georgia.
According to the law, now the Prime Minister has two days to formally appoint other members of the Cabinet of Ministers, the agency "News-Georgia" reports.
