Azerbaijani activist arrested for 30 days
Samir Mamedli, an activist of the Youth Committee of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), has been sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest.
He was detained in the morning on November 3 and taken to the Chief Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Gezyal Bayramly, a deputy chairman of the PFPA, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to her story, so far the police failed to inform any party officials or Mamedli's relatives about the reasons for the detention.
"Usually in such cases, they move charges against oppositionists of committing some administrative violations, like "disorderly conduct" or "disobeying police", or both together," Ms Bayramly said.
She added that today Mamedli's relatives were told that Samir was sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest.
