Road in Shushiya village restored after protest of local residents
Residents of the village of Shushiya, who have earlier dug up the road in protest against the delay in the allocation of land plots to them, have restored the road.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 6, the villagers held a rally with the demand to provide them with 16.7 hectares of agricultural land and allocate land plots among the local residents. On October 7, in protest, the villagers dug up the road leading to the disputed land plots.
The road dug up by the local residents is filled up with ground, and it is used by heavy vehicles transporting sand extracted from a quarry, reported the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on October 27.
The disputed land plots are leased by Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Stroitel-7" and Agricultural Production Cooperative (APC) "Almaz", and the local residents have been promised other land plots for compensation. The Shushiya villagers didn't agree to the exchange, but a lot of them agreed to compensation, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a villager.
According to the villager, lists for compensation are comprised in the village, and 70 people are included in them.
However, in a conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, another resident of the village has noted that an agreement on compensation is reached in the oral form only, and no contracts were concluded.
