Live on Chechen TV, Murdalov refutes information of his beating by Daudov
Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament and Ramzan Kadyrov's confidant, did not beat up Takhir Murdalov, the Acting Chairman of the Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya. This was reported by the judge himself and confirmed by his colleagues on air of the Chechen television. However, Murdalov was not shown in the programme; only an audio record of his interview was reproduced.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the beating up of Murdalov was reported by the "Kavkaz.Realii" and "Novaya Gazeta". The judge was beaten because he refused to leave his post, said the sources.
Magomed Daudov is one of Ramzan Kadyrov's confidants. He has actively supported the campaign against critics of the head of Chechnya.
The information about Daudov's conflict with Murdalov was also refuted by a source from the SC; however, he confirmed that on October 6 Daudov came to the SC.
An activist of an NGO, named Khasan, expressed confidence that Daudov had come to Murdalov not on his own initiative, but under the order of the head of the republic.
"The Chechen leader puts himself above all laws and moral norms; and residents of the republic could see it more than once. Any criticism of the authorities is toughly responded; and 'perpetrators' are forced to publicly repent," said the source.
According to the head of one of the NGOs, the above TV report could be prepared through pressure on judges.
