Resident of Dagestan declared wanted within Kaziakhmedov's murder case

Kyamal Ramazanov, a resident of Derbent, has become a figurant in the murder case of Gadjiakhmed Kaziakhmedov, the father of the former Mayor of Derbent.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the 82-year-old Gadjiakhmed Kaziakhmedov was killed on May 9 in his house. On May 14, power agents conducted a special operation in Derbent against suspects of committing the murder. It was reported that four suspected militants, the chief of the criminal investigation division and an OMON (riot police) fighter were killed in the operation, and about 20 other law enforcers were wounded. One of the slain suspected militants was later identified as Bayramali Abasov.

According to investigators, in February 2016, the 34-year-old Kyamal Ramazanov teamed up with Bayramali Abasov and created an armed grouping in Derbent, and then took command over it.

Being gang members, Ramazanov and Abasov, as investigators have established, committed an armed assault on a resident of Derbent and stole 285,000 roubles, golden jewellery and money totalling more than 4 million roubles, as well as murdered Gadjiakhmed Kaziakhmedov during the robbery.

A criminal case was opened against Kyamal Ramazanov under Part 1, Article 209 of the Russian Criminal Code (creation of a stable armed grouping (gang) and command of such grouping (gang)). Ramazanov has been charged in absentia and put on the international wanted list.
