Defence of Sochi resident Irina Snytko announces unreasonably rapid completion of investigation
It took five days from investigators to complete the investigation into the criminal case against Irina Snytko, accused of biting a policeman when policemen tried to transport her car to a car pound. According to the defence, such an efficient investigation can be explained by the fact that the investigators had ignored the position of Irina Snytko.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 30, Irina Snytko parked her car near the Sochi market "Velodrome". When she returned, her car was loaded to a tow truck to evacuate it to a car pound. Irina Snytko has climbed onto the tow truck and demanded to return her car. The woman was handcuffed and brought to a police station. On August 7, she was fined for resisting the police, and criminal proceedings were instituted against her. The investigators believe that Irina Snytko had bitten a policeman and thus had used violence against a public officer.
According to Alexander Popkov, the second advocate of Irina Snytko, it is the first time when he meets such a rapid investigation into a criminal case.
"According to the documents, the criminal case was instituted on August 8. On August 11, it was handed over to my client, and on August 12, it was completed," clarified the defender.
Besides, according to him, the complaint filed by his client was not combined with the current criminal case. In her complaint, his client has claimed that the policemen subjected her to beatings and abused their power.
According to the defence, in Sochi, private businesses and road police (known as GIBDD) are interested in transporting as much cars as possible to a car pound.
The defence is also preparing a complaint against the court resolution to fine the woman 1000 roubles for resistance to the police. This was reported by advocate Alexander Boichenko.
