Dagestan opens mountain tea festival

Today, the first mountain tea festival has been organized in the Dagestani village of Sogratl. The programme of the festival included contests, sports competitions, excursions, and free tasting of national dishes.

The festival has begun this afternoon in the territory of the memorial complex "Vatan" in the village of Sogratl. The idea of its organization was initiated by the Sogratl administration and the company "Ecocaucasus".

"The festival is to include concert and entertainment programme, songs, dances, the very contest of tea tasting, and sports, including bale lifting and stone throwing," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Amar, one of the organizers of the mountain tea festival.

According to him, residents of the republic show interest in the festival.

"People are writing and calling us. This is the first such event in Dagestan at all," Amar has emphasized.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was explained by Zainab, the chair of the organizing committee of the festival, that earlier, Sogratl has already held contests in tea tasting of village and district level; however, they were not so large-scale in comparison with the today's festival.
