Member of "Sasna Tsrer" grouping released
Gevorg Melkonyan, a member of the armed grouping "Sasna Tsrer" (Daredevils of Sassoun), has been released on recognizance not to leave. This was reported by activist Toros Sefilyan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during two weeks from July 17 to July 31 an armed grouping of supporters of the opposition "Constituent Parliament" kept the building of the police regiment in the capital of Armenia. On July 31, Gevorg Melkonyan, who was involved in the seizure of the police regiment building, surrendered to the authorities before all the rebels laid down their arms.
In the evening of August 3, on his Facebook page, a brother of Zhirair Sefilyan, the leader of the movement "100 years without regime", wrote that Gevorg Melkonyan signed recognizance not to leave and then was released.
It should be noted that on July 31, the police issued a video in which two rebels Ruben Grigoryan and Gevorg Melkonyan said that they agreed to take part in a rally in Yerevan and not in the seizure of the building of the police regiment, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
According to Gevorg Melkonyan, nobody told him what his mission was to be, where he was to stand and what he was to do. "Probably, they thought that I was aware of where I was going. However, I knew nothing about that," Gevorg Melkonyan claims.
