More than 5000 people come to parade of nations in Sochi

On July 12, the Parade of Nations took place within the 9th World Choir Games. More than 5000 people in national clothing took national flags of 36 countries and went along Kurortny Avenue of Sochi. According to the organizers, about 15,000 people watched the Parade.

"The World Choir Games are an international choir contest, held every two years. In 2000, for the first time, it was organized in the Austrian city of Linz under auspices of Thomas Klestil, then Austrian President," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Gennady Ivolga, the first deputy director of the Winter Theatre.

According to Gennady Ivolga, the choir contest took place in China, the US, Germany, and South Korea. In 2016, it is hosted by Sochi on July 6-16.

Adina, a member of the choir from Israel, believes that "culture and especially singing brings people and nations together."

Richard from Nigeria has said that in Sochi, he met the same "solar atmosphere and hospitality" as at home.

According to the press service of Sochi, during the World Choir Games, the city will hold contests of champions and performances in 14 categories and master classes in South African dance music. Moreover, on July 13 and 14, the gala concerts will take place.
