Krasnodar historian goes on hunger strike against additional charges for capital repair
On June 22, Krasnodar historian Sergey Ryabchikov, the president of the Krasnodar research centre for the study of ancient civilizations and cultures, started a protest action. At present, his condition is being assessed as satisfactory. The Krasnodar historian intends to continue his hunger strike until the courts, to which he has filed complaints against the Krasnodar regional fund of capital repairs of apartment buildings, do consider the complaints on the merits and check the activities of the fund.
Sergey Ryabchikov has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on February 12, 2016, he appealed to the Leninsky District Court with a claim against the Krasnodar regional fund of capital repairs. Sergey Ryabchikov did not agree with the fact that the tenants of his house received additional cheques to pay for target contribution for co-financing of capital repairs in the amount of 15,000 roubles per one apartment. Sergey Ryabchikov believes that the additional fee violates the law.
According to him, the complaints to the regional and district courts have not succeeded. So, the historian decided to hold a series of pickets in front of the buildings of the Krasnodar courts. Last week, he picketed the Regional Court with a poster in his hands reading: "Egregious lawlessness occurs in Krasnodar!"
On June 22, Sergey Ryabchikov made a decision to start a hunger strike, since his pickets invoked no response.
