Judge recognizes use of torture against defendant in Sergey Zirinov's case

At the court session in the case against Sergey Zirinov, a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Kuban, the court has announced the results of the examinations concerning signs of physical impacts and injuries on the body of defendant Eduard Paladyan. The judge has recognized that the defendant was subjected to torture. Thereafter, Eduard Paladyan agreed to answer the questions of the defence and prosecutors.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the case against Sergey Zirinov is being considered at the North-Caucasian District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don since August 2015. On June 15, Eduard Paladyan pleaded not guilty.

Today, the judge chairing the court session has read out the medical report about the presence on the Eduard Paladyan's body of burns from electric current impact. The judge has recognized that Eduard Paladyan was subjected to torture.

Eduard Paladyan has also given explanations for the large number of properties registered in his name. According to him, 30 apartments were allocated to him by the company "Golden Beach", which thus encouraged its employees.

"The prosecutors believe that all members of the criminal grouping received material compensation from Sergey Zirinov for their involvement in it," noted advocate Anna Stavitskaya, who was withdrawn from the trial.

Let us remind you that Sergey Zirinov and other defendants in the case are accused of killings, including the murder of Vitaly Sadovnichy, the director of the Anapa sanatorium "Little Bay", and his wife, as well as Salman Nabiev, a businessman from Novorossiysk.
