In Rostov-on-Don, picketers treat their detention as unlawful

The picket "For Russia without dictatorship" was held in the place specially allocated by the authorities for holding of actions. This was stated by picketers, when the police detained them and drew up administrative protocols against them.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 13, a group of activists organized a series of solo pickets. Despite the fact that they held solo pickets in square in front of the Don State Library, one of the places specially allocated for actions, the police detained five activists.

On June 8, a notification on holding a picket involving 40 persons was submitted to the city administration. This was reported by Stanislav Truntaev, one of the detainees, a member of the movement "Solidarity". Meanwhile, the notification mentioned a platform near the Don Library as an alternative place for holding a picket.

According to Stanislav Truntaev, the law enforcers spent 3.5 hours by drawing up protocols against the activists.

Nikolai Kladovoi, another picketer, has added that the protocols were drawn up under Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the established order of organizing or holding of a meeting, rally, demonstration, march, or picketing).
