Activists demand from UN to investigate situation in Karabakh conflict zone
Activists of the movement "New Armenia" have delivered a letter to the Yerevan Office of the United Nations (UN). The letter is addressed to the UN Secretary General, and it contains the demand to identify the instigator of escalation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The UN is to conduct the international investigation. This was stated by Andrias Ghukasyan, a member of the movement "New Armenia". According to Andrias Ghukasyan, then it will be clear "the April war was initiated by Azerbaijan," the "Tert.am" reports.
"Of course, you are informed that on April 2, an armed clash occurred in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. As a result, several dozen soldiers were killed and wounded. Civilians also fell victim to the armed clash, and thousands of people were forced to temporarily leave their houses. Of them, a lot of people still cannot return to the normal life," states the letter as quoted by the "Armenia-Today".
According to Nagorno-Karabakh officials, in the period of April 1-6, the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh lost 32 soldiers, and 25 others were missing in action. 121 soldiers and officers were wounded. Azerbaijan reported on 31 killed soldiers.
