In Saint Petersburg, Yuri Budanov's portrait appears on bridge over Dudergof Channel

Last night, unidentified persons painted a portrait of Colonel Yuri Budanov, who was accused of murdering a Chechen girl, next to the bridge over Dudergof Channel in the Krasnoselsky District of Saint Petersburg. Earlier, it has been proposed to rename the bridge after Akhmat Kadyrov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 30, the Toponymy Commission of Saint Petersburg offered to name the bridge over Dudergof Channel after Akhmat Kadyrov, the first Chechen President. Cultural figures spoke against the proposal. The city hosted protest actions. On June 8, it became known that Boris Vishnevsky, a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg, filed an application to the electoral commission to hold a municipal referendum on the issue of naming the bridge after Akhmat Kadyrov.

The photos of the graffiti with a portrait of Yuri Budanov were published on the group "Traffic JAMS for residents of Krasnoe Selo" on the social network "VKontakte".

On the photo, next to the portrait of Yuri Budanov, everyone can see the depicted military order of the Colonel, withdrawn by the court decision. Under the photos, activists posted a questioning on the topic: "How would you like to name this bridge?"

It should be noted that the decision on naming the bridge in Saint Petersburg after Akhmat Kadyrov, the first Chechen President, will be made by the city government after the approvals in several committees of the City Mayoralty.
