KBR resident sentenced to two years of imprisonment for involvement in IS

The Urvan District Court of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has sentenced a local resident to two years of imprisonment in a penal colony for an attempt to leave for Syria to take part in the combat actions on the side of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS) banned in Russia.

The local resident is charged under Part 1 of Article 30 and Part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The maximum penalty stipulates 10 years of imprisonment, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by an official from the FSB press service.

The resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), born in 1988, was detained while he tried to leave for Syria to take part in the combat actions on the side of the terrorists.
